1950 The Beginning: 1950
In 1950, Shri Dhirajlal Chunilal Soni, set foot on the port of Bombay, oblivious that this step would mark the beginning of an extraordinary journey.
1961 Silver Bangles: 1961
For several years, Dhirajlal C. Soni made bangles as a karigar in Zaveri Bazaar. Seeing that he has gained considerable experience, well known jewelers B. A. Shah and Brothers gave him Rs 1000 and encouraged him to start his own work. Thus, with Rs 500 worth of silver and Rs 500 worth of jewelry making tools, he started the manufacturing of bangles with the help of his wife, Smt. Sumitraben D. Soni, from their 110 sq ft home. This event laid the first brick of the firm foundation of Dhirajlal C. Soni and Sons(DC).
1978 Initiation of The Second Generation to the Family Business: 1978
As years passed by, the company grew with the addition of 3 more karigars for increased production. Soon after, the eldest son of the family, Mr Hemendra D. Soni, joined the family business and learned the art of Moti Paroni(Pearl Stringing).
1984 Rice Pearl Sets: 1984
Burning with the desire to create and introduce new concepts to the market, beautifully strung, elegant rice pearl sets were created. The creation of these rice pearl sets signified the onset of a commitment to be driven by creativity, quality, innovation and technology. Soon after completing his graduation, the second son of the family, Mr Umang D. Soni, joined the family's quest to create alluring, high quality and innovative designs.
1988 Bikaneri Kundan Jewelry(In Silver): 1988
True to the vision of introducing new concepts, Bikaneri Kundan Jewelry was introduced in the year 1988. Armed with experience in the diamond industry, with expertise in diamond polishing and assortment, the youngest son of the family, Mr. Chetan D. Soni, decided to join the family business. This event completed the initiation of the second generation to the family business. Thus began a new era for Dhirajlal C. Soni and Sons, with its 3 cornerstones, walking side by side, striving to take the company to new levels.
1989 Breakthrough in The Making of Jadau Jewelry:1989
Always on the lookout to innovate the jewelry making process , a new mechanism was invented to create Kundan Jewelry. Traditionally, this type of jewelry is made by karigars in Bikaner by setting stones into skeletal ghaats that are laden with laakh. Furthermore, this process involves the usage of gold foil to hold the gems into place. The Company was able to revolutionize the process by eliminating the use of laakh. Instead of using gold foils, silver metal shells are used to hold stones which are then placed into ghaats. Armed with weapons of creativity and innovative thinking, the Company proved to be the first introducers of a new trend that benefitted the entire industry.
1989 Electrophoretic Plating:1989
Otherwise not used in the industry, Electrophoretic plating was adapted by the Company for jewelry, after sufficient R&D and practical applications with the help of our plater. This Plating ensured better shielding of jewelry from corrosion factors for a long lasting effect.
1992 Introduction of Casting Process for Jewelry Making:1992
As the company progressed, manufacturing of jewelry with the help of fine and precise casting equipment was adopted to further improve upon quality.
1992 Embossed Jadau Jewelry: 1992
In the year 1992, the company introduced yet another concept, namely Embossed jadau jewelry.
1992 Establishment of Sister Company: 1992
It was in the year 1992 that the sister company, Rachna Jewellers Pvt. Ltd. was established.
2000-01 CZ Jewelry and Innovation in Wax Setting: 2000-01
The Company marched a step forward with the manufacturing of CZ Jewelry and gave new dimensions to the segment through the in-house innovations in the wax setting process.
2003 CZ Polki in Wax Setting: 2003
Further advancement in CZ Jewelry happened when the Company introduced regular shaped polkis in wax setting.
2008 Creation of New Vilandi Shapes: 2008
With the aim of providing high quality jewelry to customers, the Company was successful in creating new Vilandi shapes of different sizes and dimensions. With this, the Company was able to give an authentic, real gold look to the Vilandi Jewelry by adopting a making process that was similar to the traditional one.
2009 Micro-Pave Setting: 2009
Earlier possible only through hand setting, the Company saw a breakthrough with the incorporation of micro-pave wax setting of 1mm stones using the in-house RPT machines. This breakthrough greatly increased the precision and efficiency of the making process.
2010 Fusion Jewelry:2010
In a quest to create imaginative, stylish and exquisite jewelry, the Company decided to fuse CZ and Vilandi Jewelry into a harmonious amalgamation. This ornamental style that evokes a sense of modernism, while still maintaining the grandeur of traditional jewelry was conceived keeping in mind the modern contemporary woman
2010 Won First Runner Up for Solitaire Design Awards: 2010
Mohini, a colourful Diamond Pendant, won First Runner Up for the Solitaire Design Awards, 2010. This enchanting pendant represents the vivacious spirit of India. It's Mango shaped leaf design and vivid colours are symbolic of India's versatile cultural heritage. Like today's India, Mohini too is a classic blend of Traditional Value and International Taste.
2012 Nominated for the Solitaire Design Awards: 2012
This beautiful Bracelet, Hem Rachna, a pure and delicate creation truly reflects the qualities of the most precious element, LIFE. Shining together in an incredible union are its Timeless Beauty, Mystique Design and Vivid Colours. This bracelet, crafted in Diamonds, Semi- Precious Stones and Meenakari was nominated and made it as a "Finalist" for the prestigious Solitaire Design Awards, 2012.
2013 Ruby Square Setting: 2013
Acting as a proponent of the progressivity of the Company is the Invisible Ruby Square Setting. This setting requires an unconventional technique that was devised by the Company and is now used to create beautifully tessellated mosaics.
2014 Temple Jewelry: 2014
Recently, the Company has taken a giant stride towards creating temple jewelry. Each piece, adorned with the statues of deities, captures their elegant grace and depicts instances of the Hindu Mythology. The company has surged ahead, through the past five decades, with a dedicated commitment towards creativity, quality, innovation and technology and will continue to do so!
